Non-Gaming, but just as Geeky.

Another hobby that I partake in is Airsoft. For those who don't know what this is, it's where grown men (and a few women) run around woods, fields and other obstacles with b.b. guns shooting each other for fun. Yes, it can be painful, especially if you get shot in the face, but it's is as safe as any other outdoor activity. Face masks, or goggles are mandatory to protect the eyes. The reason I like this way more than paint-balling is that I can use replicas of real guns, rather than ugly bulbous tubes. It is an expensive hobby to start, with guns starting at £150 and going way, way higher. However once you have your kit, the ammo itself is very cheap. £8 getting you around 5000 b.b.s.

Escalation League Month One Results.

My first three matches in the KOA Escalation League were to be my trial by fire. I had never played Warriors of Chaos before, and I had never played 8th Edition yet. So I knew it would be interesting. You pick your army before the first game, you then use that list for the rest of the month, meaning you can't tailor armies to suit opponents, which I agree with. Makes player have to think of a balanced list.

Escalation League

The main reason I started this blog was to record my adventures in the Escalation League ran by Kingdom of Adventure. The idea behind the league is that you start with a 750pt fully painted army, play a set amount of games, and then the points rise by 250pt each month. I got interested in this because a) I can build an army up over time thereby spreading cost. and b) Since I struggle to paint at the best of times, this will give me a deadline to get stuff done in.
I decided to go with a Warriors of Chaos army, mainly due to the fact they have some really good mini's, and I have never played an "evil" army before.
